Insurance is optional. Insurance for all goods and merchandise is the responsibility of the shipper/client. Load Runners SA carries a Goods In Transit contingency liability cover of R500,000.00 per load however this GIT insurance only covers instances of Hijackings, Accidents, Civil unrest claims and extreme cases of negligence on the transporters behalf. The client is required to obtain their own goods in transit to cover damages in transit. We cannot be held liable for goods which have not been sufficiently packaged. Our drivers sign for packaged goods and do not check the contents of the goods being transported. Should the recipient claim shortage of goods whilst having received the goods in good order with no visible exterior damages we will assume that the cargo was not packed according to its packing list at the collection point. In addition, should any goods be noted missing it must be done in front of the delivery driver and details of the shortage must be endorsed on the waybill before the driver leaves the recipients address. Unless the correct procedure is followed we cannot claim from our insurers.
Limitation Of Liability
Our maximum limit of liability for loss or damage is R10,000.00 per consignment. For this cover we charge a R10,00 per consignment insurance administration fee. Should your documents or goods exceed this value, you are recommended to obtain insurance cover for the full value of the transported goods. Insurance cover can be obtained by contacting our offices in writing at email@example.com alternatively click on our insurers link & B-Sure Insurance Brokers will be happy to assist you directly.
